Tempered safety glass consists of one glass pane. This provides increased resistance to temperature changes and high bending, impact and shock resistance. In the event of breakage, tempered safety glass disintegrates into small, loosely connected fragments.

Laminated glass consists of two or more layers of glass, mainly flat glass panes and an interlayer of tear resistant film. Depending on the structure, the layers provide physical assault, piercing or bullet resistant properties that meet highest security requirements. When laminated glass breaks, the glass fragments adhere to the interlayer material.
