Häfele were pleased to provide a set of Hawa Variofold 80/H Sliding Door Systems to Icklesham Joinery, who were undertaking the challenging task of redeveloping the famous Garden Museum, in central London.

The architect for the project, Dow Jones Architects, addressed a vital need for creating a public face for the building within this project. This new entrance was designed to overcome the problem of the often-overlooked existing entrance, that many people assumed to be part of Lambeth Palace. The new building provides a fresh, urban presence, extending the museum using a ‘cluster of copper clad pavilions that form a Cloister garden’.

The team at Garden Museum are extremely pleased with the final design of the new public entrance. “It creates a welcoming and beautiful first impression for all our guests, and fits naturally with the rest of the Museum. We have worked with Dan Pearson and Christopher Bradley-Hole, award winning Garden Designers, who designed the outside spaces at the Museum. It was therefore important to us that the doors used offered the best possible views of the gardens outside the Museum."
