FSC® was founded in 1993 and is an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. It promotes a trustworthy wood labelling scheme allowing consumers to identify wood and wood based products from well managed forests, developed in response to public concern about deforestation.

Häfele UK have been certified by FSC since March 2004 for the chain of custody supply of wooden products.

The Regulation, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation came into effect June 2007, of which Häfele UK are compliant.  It is designed to replace approximately 41 EU legislations with regards towards chemical controls, with the objective to ensure that every chemical substance being used has been registered on a central database to implement a high level of control on the safe use of such chemicals.

Häfele UK complies with the Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2008. We are registered with Comply Direct and applicable products are labelled according to the requirements of the directive.

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring awareness and compliance to current and future directives, Haefele UK confirm their compliance to this directive which came into effect on 01.07.2006. Specific details relating to any products can be made available on request.

RoHS2 DIRECTIVE 2011/65/EU - Commencing 02/01/2013

Important amendments have been made to the RoHS directive which has immediate implications for our vendors.

The re-issued RoHS Directive also now includes controls relating to CE marking. Simply, what this means is if you manufacture an electrical/electronic product, device or equipment, you can no longer just CE mark in accordance with the Medical Device, Machinery, EMC or Low Voltage Directives. Compliance with the RoHS Directive is also now required before you place the CE mark on the product.

This should be clearly stipulated in any Declaration of Conformity provided by vendors of electrical/electronic products.

Häfele Ireland complies with The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2006.

Häfele recognises that enviomental concerns are becoming increasingly important in society and that businesses have both a legal and ethical duty to ensure that they behave in an environmentally sensitive and acceptable way.

Häfele UK have standard quality inspection procedures relating to the Quality Standard ISO 9001 which apply to deliveries made from our distribution centre in Rugby. As goods on direct delivery orders are delivered direct from a 3rd party, we are unable to implement these procedures for these orders and therefore cannot supply certificates of conformity for these deliveries. We would like to express that in the unlikely event of anything being incorrect your statutory rights will not be affected.
